Handbook to Higher Consciousness

If you've reached the point where you're saying to yourself, "..okay, I get it now, I can have a happier life if I manage to raise my consciousness/the frequency that I think on and act from to a higher level, but how do I do it?, reading this book is a good place to start.

Handbook to Higher Consciousness was written by Ken Keyes Jr. and it was first published in 1972. It's still available in bookstores though sometimes only in used versions. To my surprise, it has also been made available online and if there ever was a time or need for this book to be read it's now. This is the link to the site that I am referring to and I included the PDF below. I'm not saying this book will give you all the answers you seek, but it might be a place to start.

Other books that came to mind to recommend (for the holidays) are Journey of Souls by Dr. Michael Newton and these 3 books by Barbara Marciniak in this order: Bringers of the Dawn, Family of Light, and Path of Empowerment.

You can read a few excerpts from Bringers of the Dawn on this page on Barbara Marciniak's website, but please take this to heart: if what you read doesn't resonate with you, you're not ready for this material and/or these books are not for you. And that's ok! If you want to know more about this author before diving into the books, you can watch a workshop she gave in 2007 in this article: Pleiadian Wisdom For Challenging Times.

I AM

Created on Sunday, 10 November 2013 10:52

I AM is an engaging and entertaining non-fiction film that poses two practical questions: what’s wrong with our world, and what can we do to make it better? The filmmaker behind the inquiry is Tom Shadyac, one of Hollywood’s leading comedy practitioners and the creative force behind  “Ace Ventura,” “Liar Liar,” “The Nutty Professor,” and “Bruce Almighty.”

However, in I AM, Shadyac steps in front of the camera to recount what happened to him after a cycling accident left him completely incapacitated. Though he ultimately recovered, he emerged with a new sense of purpose, determined to share his own awakening to his prior life of excess and greed.

Armed with nothing but his innate curiosity and a small crew to film his adventures, Shadyac set out to investigate how he as an individual, and humanity as a whole, could improve the way we live and walk in the world. On his quest, he met with a variety of thinkers and doers from the worlds of science, philosophy, academia, and faith, such as David Suzuki, Noam Chomsky, Howard Zinn, Desmond Tutu, Lynne McTaggart, Ray Anderson, John Francis, Coleman Barks, and Marc Ian Barasch.

Shadyac appears on-screen as an irrepressible everyman who asks tough questions but offers no easy answers. The result is a fresh, energetic, and life-affirming film that challenges our preconceptions about human behavior, while simultaneously celebrating the unconquerable human spirit.

Editor's note: Since I'm not religious I do not subscribe to the 'turn the other cheek' philosophy that is outlined in this film. I believe that peaceful people who are attacked because of their convictions have a right -an obligation even- to defend themselves and their loved ones. In addition to that I'm not a fan of Obama, but other than these two aforementioned 'flaws' I think the movie is great.

Quantum Communication

Created on Saturday, 03 March 2012 21:33

This extraordinary film by producer David Sereda explains how communication works on the quantum level.

You will get more out of it if you are familiar with (at least) the basic principles of quantum physics. If you are unfamiliar with quantum physics I recommend that you first watch The Elegant Universe. ‘The Elegant Universe’ covers General Relativity, Quantum Physics, and String Theory.
