Joe Cross was just an average man with a huge problem. He was extremely fat. Doctors could no longer help him and as he wanted to get completely off all his medications, he decided to create his own diet plan before losing his life.

Joe considered his options and he set off for a trek of 3,000 miles – carrying only a generator and a juicer. His goal was to be on the road for sixty days, through rain and sun, consuming nothing but juice. His triumph, in the end, was a massive loss – of weight that is. His loss is our gain as he had the entire journey filmed for an audience to later partake of.

The movie that came out of this has inspired many people, not only to lose weight but to be free from all that holds them back.

When people ask me what I do to maintain my slim figure, I always say that it helps a lot to have alien DNA :). Other than that it's just a healthy lifestyle.

Summer is here and lots of people (especially women!) make a b-line for the gym in order to look good in their beachwear, but then they put all the weight back on in fall and winter. It just doesn't work.

Obesity has taken on epidemic proportions in the United States but wherever you are on the planet, whether you're male or female, if you want to get in shape and need some inspiration I can highly recommend this documentary.

‘That Guy…. Who Was In That Thing’ is a documentary about sixteen actors who detail their ups and downs as they struggle to forge careers in Hollywood. They've played cops, lawyers, bosses, best friends, psychopaths, politicians, and everything in between.

After watching it you’ll remember who they are.

I like this documentary because it gives the ‘uninitiated’ a realistic (and at times quite funny) portrayal of what trying to make it as an actor is like for those who are not on the so-called ‘A-list’ with an 8 digit salary.

Contrary to popular belief and the machinations of the Hollywood PR machine all that glitters isn’t gold.

I AM is an engaging and entertaining non-fiction film that poses two practical questions: what’s wrong with our world, and what can we do to make it better? The filmmaker behind the inquiry is Tom Shadyac, one of Hollywood’s leading comedy practitioners and the creative force behind  “Ace Ventura,” “Liar Liar,” “The Nutty Professor,” and “Bruce Almighty.”  

However, in I AM, Shadyac steps in front of the camera to recount what happened to him after a cycling accident left him completely incapacitated. Though he ultimately recovered, he emerged with a new sense of purpose, determined to share his own awakening to his prior life of excess and greed.

Armed with nothing but his innate curiosity and a small crew to film his adventures, Shadyac set out to investigate how he as an individual, and humanity as a whole, could improve the way we live and walk in the world. Editor's note: Since I'm not religious I do not subscribe to the 'turn the other cheek' philosophy that is outlined in this film. I believe that peaceful people who are attacked because of their convictions have a right -an obligation even- to defend themselves and their loved ones. In addition to that I'm not a fan of Obama, but other than these two aforementioned 'flaws' I think the movie is great.

The Business of War: SOFEX

SOFEX is one of the places where the world's generals go to buy everything from handguns to laser-guided missile systems. It stands for "Special Operations Forces Exhibition Conference" and it's essentially a trade-show where just about anyone with enough money, can buy the most powerful weapons in the world. To quote this video's presenter: "It's the business of war. All the generals coming with billions upon billions of dollars of taxpayer money (yes, your money too), to buy weapons, to fuck shit up."

What should be more than obvious to you, after you've watched this video, is that peace is very bad for business.

And people still wonder why the world is in the state it's in.
